Eventually the medic made it back across the river, as commander launched two artillery strikes in the area to prevent enemy forces from closing on the task force. Casualties were high. 3rd Squad was wiped out by an enemy light machine gun technical. None of the other elements in the task force suffered casualties. With the help of the reinforcements and the repair truck, the two disabled tanks were repaired and brought back into service. 3. Assessment The task force successfully secured the Village of Yamalta. However, the operation was costly. Command squad and 2nd squad each lost five personnel. Two BMPs and one repair truck were destroyed.
